CRUMBSUCKERS.

If ever there was a NYC band that fit the crossover bill, it would be these guys.
Many would label them as a "joke band" - (that would come later) - but honestly? The riffage on here is no fucking joke, son.

A perfect mix of NYHC-meets-Bay Area Thrash, and for me that's a winning combo on most days...

Great record, but  in my opinion they went too far into metal territoyon  their  next Lp B.O.M.B. I saw them a few years ago in NYC when they did what I think was a one off reunion show.

I'd like to know some history behind the band, as their details were unknown to the West Coast folks.  I'm not sure how they were live or if they even played or toured very much.

I bought this record in late '86...it ripped then and I suppose it always will (to my ears).  There are some great subtle guitar sounds/noises/squeals that still kill.  The singer has the perfect unstrained shouting cadence, and the drummer does a great job.

I've always suspected that the Combat Core CD of this LP was cheaply made from a viynl source and not the masters...I swear there are a few audible clicks and pops if you listen carefuly.  The Ludichrist Immaculate Deception CD I suspect was also a vinyl transfer, not a true "re-master".

The letdown BOMB follow-up LP was pretty disapointing (letdown compared to LOD...it's a decent, polished, speed metal record on it's own merit with some great tracks).  I thought they would evolve differently keeping the more hardcore-tinged roots but with warped jazz elements, instead they ditched most of the hardcore/punk.

Along with "age of quarrel" and "cause for alarm" this was NYC at it's best

I just hate the term 'thrashcore.'
Great upload thanks!

The very first concert I went to was to see the Crumbs at good ol' Sundance on Long Island in 1988. They were true crossover. The Crumbsuckers, Ludichrist and some DRI were kind of in the same bucket back then. Bummed I missed th NYC show a few years ago. Hope they do another.

Maybe I'm weird, but I like the term thrashcore.
Crossover is another funny/un-tuff sounding one, but "it is what it is", and they just don't make bands like that no more...
