Do you like real "meat-and-potatoes" styled hardcore?
If your answer is "yes", then you'll probably dig the utterly bombastic chaotic thrash of the infamous Failure Face.
While Brandon, FL may not have been a major player in the hardcore scene, it did spawn a real motherfucker of a band back in the 90's.
Here's a choice collection of their output for your enjoyment.
Now playing: Racebannon - Sister Fucker
Yes! Failure Face are pretty rad. I only learned about them a couple of months ago when a friend of mine hooked me up with a copy of this, but I have been loving it ever since. It's my type of HC: Short, raw, straight to the point (plus the singer avoids the "screamo" vocals, which is a big plus for me...).
ReplyDeleteBob Suren has to be one of the coolest and most dedicated people I've ever met in terms of the punk/h.c. scene..He really gives a shit, and continues to help a lot of younger bands though Sound Idea Distro/Burrito Records... Great post!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how much $$$ I have spent on CDs that I've mail-ordered from Sound Idea. Yeah, Bob rules...
ReplyDeleteyou'd totally dig suren's band murder-suicide pact

Thanks. I got their split w/ Everybody Sucks, actually, I've had to buy it twice. Brutal and angry, with little to no melody. Harmony? What? Fuck!
