CRO-MAGS.

One of my all-time favorites, the Cro-Mags were a "life-changing" band for me.
They opened my eyes to a different way to look at the world, both in a positive light - as well as in a self-abusive manner - much like their own personal existence(s).
I'll spare you the details - we all have our own personal demons - but in exchange, I will share with you this amazing live recording from the "Golden Era" of the Cro-Mags.

Comments appreciated - I know that's so 2009, but I enjoy the dialogue, and we all know how you like to talk about yourself, etc.

  5. Cro-Mags are one of those bands where you remember the first time you heard them, etc. I guess like most people closer to the 4 zero than 3 zero, the "golden era" of the Mags was just amazing even if I never saw them live.

  6. Grew up in the hardcore scene, cb's, thompkin's park, bum riot, sang in Negative Youth. This was the greatest band to come from that era....songs still hold true today, if not even more real and foretelling.

You come into the world- with nothing except yourself.
You leave this world- with nothing except yourself....

Dare I say many of us will live to see what was foretold....

Great memories, see many of you on the other side!

    Peace

  7. Awesome dude, seen them once with original line-up back in 89 in club called Scum, in Katwijk Holland. And yes they opened my eyes too, i was a little punk and this stuff was so impressive and they had so much to say that made sense....

  8. Thanks for this one. Generally, I'm not a big fan of NYHC, I do though make a huge exception for the Cro-Mags. Their first two records never fail to get my blood pressure up.

  9. 86 was the most memorable year for the kind of hardcore I like, but when I've heard the intro to "we gotta know" I knew that it was going to rewrite the standards for whatever I've heard or would hear.
    Thank you

  10. Saw them opening for GBH at an all ages show in San Jose. Clown Alley played right before them, both bands were incredibly intense but in totally different ways.
