NOOTHGRUSH.

A staple back in the Nineties as far as Bay Area doomy sludgecore went, I'm thinkin' people appreciate them now more than they did back in the day.
I saw them play quite a few times over the years at some seriously fucked up house parties / warehouses, etc. and I just have to say that I MISS THEM.
(And the way the Mission music scene used to be in general).

Here's a kick-ass radio set, enjoy.

Noothgrush - KZSU / Palo Alto CA 05.01.1996

Now playing: Acrid - Mindspasms

DYSTOPIA.

A request for PJ over at Excess Zine, here's yet another great record by one of my favorites - Dystopia.
I think I've posted more by these East Bay scuzz-lords than any other band featured here on L-R V...

D/L Dystopia - Human = Garbage right here.

I got a rip of the new record they just released, but one of the tracks is fucked up - I've seen like 4 or 5 blogs who have posted this flawed version as well - so I figured NOT to post the new one until I get a clean copy.

----------------
Now playing: Breathing Fire - Diet333

DYSTOPIA.

A good live set from Seattle recorded in 2002.

(Updates are still happening - I'm not gonna let the blog die - it just wont be as frequent as it once was.
Bear with me as I rebuild my music collection.

HARD DRIVE FAILURE SUCKS.

Dystopia - 11.09.2002, Seattle, WA

NOOTHGRUSH.

Whenever I listen to Noothgrush I start feel happy and content.
That may sound crazy to you, but it's true. Maybe the "painful plod of sound" they create cancels out any bad feeling or sadness inside me, fuck if I know. All I know is that these guys don't get enough credit for what they did for the doom / sludge genre(s). I hate the term "slowcore" - these folks were much more than that...
