LAST POST.

After much thought, I have decided to "call it a day" here at the Lo-Res Viscera.

A few weeks ago, MediaFire neutered 90% of my links - thusly, nearly all posts are dead.

In a way, it is for the better.

Almost 5 fucking years for a blog is a good run, but sadly, the Feds seem to think that SOME of us who actually give a shit about the bands that we WRITE about is a crime - THAT IS A FUCKING CRIME.

This blog was never about leaking garbage put out by mainstream labels, nor was it about undercutting a band's profits - most all the bands I ever wrote about were just like you & me (I would assume).
In the end LO-RES VISCERA was just a place I could do a bit of ranting, and flex my (lack of) "wordsmithing skills" about how much a certain band meant to me on a given day in my life, and if anyone else out there felt the same way, it was nice to hear from you.

For the time being, I'm gonna keep the blog up - not sure what links are still active, but have at it. I'm gonna take a bit of time off, maybe team up w/ some other bloggers - (anybody want / need a hand?) - and then when I am (mentally) ready to attack the internets again (and can figure out a system that won't be nuked by "Big Brother") I will be back in a new form.

Keep The L-R V in your RSS Reader / Google Reader / Facebook Feed for further updates!
As far as Facebook goes, I will be keeping that page up, & updating it from time to time w/ music, videos, info, etc. You can still always reach me via the orange contact button floating over there on the left hand margin, by the way - don't bother asking for re-ups though, okay?

Once again, thank you for being a loyal reader (or leecher) all these years.

WAYNE KRAMER.

As a kid growing up in a no-way-out / burned-out General Motors town in mid-Michigan, The Brother Wayne Kramer always "spoke" to me. His playing in the MC5 fanned the flames of many a revolt in the Seventies; be them political demonstrations, or of "the innner self".
Sadly, the MC5 went down in flames like only they could do it - they will always be legend.

They don't make protest bands anymore, kid.

Wayne has been there & done that more than twice, and has played with the likes of everyone from GG Allin to Red Rodney to Johnny Thunders to The Melvins & quite a few other bad-asses in between. These days, he spends most of his time giving hope to "correctional facility" prisoners via his Jail Guitar Doors foundation, as well as scoring the music for the "television-awesomeness" known as Eastbound & Down.

The man has risen from a dark past - to shine like a motherfucker - to say the least.

Ain't nothin' wrong with that - most of us can only hope to attain some semblance of inner peace, right?

Six strings and a grip of soul.
Fuck yes.

A WORD FROM YOUR ADMINISTRATOR.

While I'm finding less & less time to devote to Lo-Res Viscera, I am also finding the desire to do what I do here waning as of late.
The lack of comments -which I realize is the one thing all bloggers bitch about- versus the amount of download activity is enough to make me seriously think about killing Lo-Res off altogether.

I've been doing this thing long enough to know what sets a good blog apart from "just another blog", and I feel like I may be nearing the end of the road - who knows? The one thing I do know is that there is gonna be some major changes happening around here very soon, and what the future holds around here, well, I'm just not sure...

I am not into "group" blogs that much, I'm not interested in adding people to upload to L-R V, and I'm not really interested in joining someone else's blog - blogs are meant to be personal - and while there is no hardline as to what it is or what I think it should be, the bottom line for L-R V is that unless the level of feedback from you guys out there in internetland speak up, share stories, bitch & moan, praise me or hate me, trade links - whatever, really - I may just pack it in soon w/o warning.

Your honest opinion on the bleak outlook of the future of L-R V is greatly appreciated.

FORKLIFT ROCK.

FIrst of all, I'd like to wish all of you the happiest of holidays.
(Hopefully you've all been kickin' back & relaxin' at least as half as hard as I have)...

It's a new year, and the first post of 2010 on the L-R V is actually a link to a compilation I did for Cheeto & the gang over at Sludge Swamp. Mari inspired me with her taste for the grind & whatnot, so I did my best to answer the call. Please check it out, I hope you enjoy it.

* By the way... The cover art posted above - if you didn't already know - is a Kenny Fuckin' Powers (of "Eastbound & Down" fame) paper fortune teller. I'm a bulletproof tiger man!!! *

COALESCE.

OX is my pick for Record of the Year.

DON'T call it a comeback!!!

Anyways, because I care so deeply about all three of you who frequent my blog /share some of my taste(s), I went ahead and ripped/EQ'd/made cover art for these recently-aired BBC sessions.
Excellent sound, tight musicianship, fierce attack - it's COALESCE.

Enjoy these; maybe the band will release them at some point?
Who knows...

In the meantime, here's a (as the late John Peel would say) "shit-hot" fuckin' gem from them (via me) to you.
